Dear friends
at the GHS, You
may know me as Badger, and I’m still
Badger! It’s been three months
since I was adopted. It’s been hard
training my humans, but I think they’ll
learn someday. I’ve gained quite a bit
of weight so far, but I get lots of
exercise out in the snow. I have a lot
of toys, and my humans are very nice to
me, and I quite like them, especially
the two little humans and the one who
takes me out for a walk every morning at
6am! I get lots of treats and have been
going to doggy training (it’s a bit
tough for me though as I can get a
little too excited). My humans think I’m
a bit spoiled, because I get to sleep on
the couch, not the new one though, which
I only sleep on while they are away, but
I don’t think they know. I also enjoy
chasing squirrels in the backyard. Bye
for now,
~
Badger
Jackson
My name is
Jack. Jackson Jacob Vsetula.
Sometimes I get Jackson and occasionally
J.J., but for the most part I’m just
Jack. When I was living at the
Humane Society people there called me
Bart, but I think Jack is a really nice
name. The people at the Humane
Society treated me real nice. The
nicest thing they did for me was let my
mum and dad adopt me. I have a
really nice house with my own bed and
everything. My mum and dad live here
with me, and I have an older brother and
two sisters who visit me a lot.
Christmas was really cool – everyone made
a big fuss over me! Daddy always
says I live the life of Riley. I
don’t know who this Riley guy is, but he
must have been really comfortable cause my
daddy seems to say it when I’m relaxing on
the couch or crawling into bed between him
and my mum. I’ve learned a lot since
I’ve been adopted. Like how to use
the computer which is how I can write this
letter to you – I even have my own
facebook account! Mum likes to pet
me and stroke me and she does my
nails. Daddy likes to play with me
and he teases me a lot. Mum says you
always tease the ones you love so I’m okay
with that. I have LOTS of
toys! Mum and dad take turns feeding
me and I love it! They always tell
me I have a really healthy appetite.
They both feed me real good. But it
seems like neither one of them like to
clean out my box. They’re talking
about teaching me how to use the people
bathroom and I’m gonna try real hard to
learn because I want to make them
happy. Anyways, I just wanted to say
Thank You Guelph Humane Society!
Thank You for finding me the purr-fect
family!
Georgia
Hello Guelph
OSPCA,
This is an update on little
Georgia. We adopted her just before
New Years and rechristened her
Moxie. This is a very fitting name
as she is a very energetic and spunky
little girl. She seems to love her new
home and has fun exploring. She got
to meet her new brother Willis. They
became acquainted much more quickly than
we anticipated. He is an OSPCA
Windsor Cat who has been an only cat since
he was a kitten but Moxie's charm showed
him how awesome a new friend can be.
Now they happily share toys, play, and
squirrel watch from their window stands.
Moxie has a new forever home and a new
fur-ever friend.
Lola
Hello,
My name is Heather and I adopted
Lola on January 3. We are coming up
on our three week anniversary and things
couldn't be going any better. After
coming home, Lola became Maeby and
immediately seemed at home. She has
turned into such a cuddle monster over the
last few weeks. She was even
sleeping in bed with me by the second
night. Maeby spends her days
napping, chasing her tail, cuddling, or
finding something to pounce on. Both
her and I are very happy.

Tiny
Hi Guelph
Humane Society! Just
wanted to send you a quick update on
Tiny – now known as Burnsy, a.k.a. C.
Montgomery Burns. Burnsy is doing so
well. He has adjusted wonderfully to his
new home. He loves chasing squirrels in
our backyard! He is very cuddly and
loving and everything we could have ever
asked for in a companion. A wonderful
addition to our family. Thank you
for taking care of him until we could
take him home! Stacey
& David
Rumplestilskin
Hello Guelph
Humane Society, On
January 22, 2012 it will be exactly 2
years since I took home my little boy
Rumpls and I must say I couldn't have
asked for a better kitty. I
apologize for the delay in updating you
on his forever home but its been a busy
couple of years. Rumpls
has fit in so well with our family, my
other cat, Buster, and him are best
friends, usually getting into some kind
of mischief (most likely at Buster's
prodding). He's a big momma's boy,
at night his favorite thing to do is to
cuddle up next to me while I lie on my
side, his head on my pillow and me
rubbing his big belly, and he follows me
where ever I go, including trying to
follow me into the bathroom, my husband
insisted I keep the bathroom door open
in the morning while in the shower
before work because he would cry outside
the door for me and wake him up!
And my husband adores him,
although it did take him a while to get
over some initial apprehensions
regarding him (Rumpls of my husband),
I'm not sure why but he does seem to
fear males but we make sure to warn all
guests so they don't approach him to
quickly and allow him to come to him in
his own time.
Aside
from putting on a few pounds from eating
his brother's reduced protein dry food
he's been in perfect health ever since
his heart scare while being
declawed. I still don't know why
that happened and I monitor him very
carefully but all his vet checks have
shown him to be in perfect health. He's
actually going to be going soon for his
yearly checkup very soon, while I've
given him 3 year vaccines and keep him
strictly indoors, except for the
balcony, he gets checked up once a year,
including blood work.
I've
attached a rather adorable picture of
him lying on my bed, he was trying to
reach a dangler on my phone when I took
it, its my wallpaper for my computer. Hope you
enjoyed the update, I will be visiting
you again when I adopt another cat since
the experience I had with all of you and
the cat I've adopted has been wonderful,
he's the cat I always wanted and he's
extremely loved by everyone! Happy
New Year! Lisa
Komadowski (aka Rumpls' momma)
Rocksy
Hi everyone
at the Guelph Humane Society!
My boyfriend and I adopted Rocksy (now
named Spencer) in September this year and
are pleased to tell you she has
become an incredible addition to our home!
I fell in love with her the first time I
saw her and so did her new big "brother"
Bogart (adopted july 2006, formerly named
Charlie)! Spencer is the sweetest cat I
have ever met, when you pick her up she
hugs you or gives you nose kisses, when we
get home from work she happily greets us
at the door and instantly flops to her
side for a belly rub, and she can't turn
down a good head scratch! Spencer is also
very curious and mischeivious, which I
knew the day I met her (she was trying to
paw her way out of her cage), she is
always so full of energy and finding a way
to get into things (like our cupboards!).
She definitely keeps us on our toes and
everyday we spend with her is a day spent
laughing. Our little princess has been a
joy to own since day one and we are so
lucky and blessed to have her!
Taullah
In November
of 2011 my family and I adopted Taullah
the kitten. We kept her name we find it
very fitting :) Since that time she have
settled in just great. When we got her she
wouldn't meow for weeks and i am happy to
say that a few weeks ago she found her
voice. She has become a very special part
of our family. She is especially close
with my one year old son James i think its
because he feeds her his vegetables lol.
Taullah has quite a taste for humane food.
When she can get her paws on it. I also
have a 2 year old cat named Isis as you
can see in the pic i provided. They have
become the best of friends. Thank you for
all the hard work you guys do all year.
Best Regards
Katie Wauchope & Family
Doris
George and I
would like to thank you all so much in
helping us adopt lovely Doris. We've
attached some pictures of her, her
"sister" (our son's dog) and our cat
Oliver. It's like she's always been ours
as she's adapted so well. She sleeps on
our bed each night. As a matter of fact,
the night we brought her home she did.
Hope you all had a good Christmas and a
Happy New Year to You! Warmest regards,
Sharon and George Sallustio
Alliston, ON
Sushi
Hi there
everyone! Myself and my boyfriend Adam
adopted Annabelle, formerly "Sushi" just
after Christmas. Since she's been here
she's warmed up to us and our place very
very quickly! She loves sleeping in bed
with us, and she's always cuddling whoever
is sitting on the couch. She has lots of
toys and a never-ending supply of
love and fun! She's also getting a
birthday party this February with my
family! Cake for humans, treats and
presents for her! She's going to be a
spoiled little girl from our families, and
I'm glad about that!
Have a Great New Year! Lots of love,
Christine, Adam, Annabelle.
Hamlet and Paris
Good
morning,
I adopted a cat and a dog over the past
year and thought I would send an
update. Hamlet and Macie (aka Paris)
have bonded very well. They play
together and cuddle up after a long
day. I'm so thankful for both of
them in my life and look forward to seeing
their happy faces each day. Hamlet
is a model cat - he's like the child that
does everything correctly. Macie on
the other hand has been the child that
requires work but when things go
correctly, you feel a wonderful sense of
happiness. She challenges me each
day and walks are still as exciting as
they first day I got her but more
importantly Macie and I have fun and I
laugh a lot. She reminds me of
Marley in Marley and me. Hamlet waits for
me at the door when he sees me coming home
and Macie wags her tail non-stop for 15
minutes when she sees me. Both
animals are happy and doing well - thank
you so much for the great care and
consideration to make both Hamlet and
Macie a pleasure to laugh with each day.

Bandit
Hi There,
Just to let you know Bandit is settling in
very nicely and is enjoying his new home.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to
provide Bandit with a loving home. Thank
you

Horatio
Hi Guelph
Humane Society team!
Apologies for delay…these pictures are
well overdue.
Just wanted to let you know that our great
cat Merlin (aka Horatio) has more than
settled into his new home (evidence in the
images attached). We picked him up
over the March break and the past few
months have been really great – from the
midnight crazies to seeing his relaxed
character develop. Thanks to all of
you for your efforts with Merlin and help
with his transition to our home.
Enjoy the pics attached…as you can see –
it was hard to choose just a couple. J
Cheers,
Peter, Jill, Max & Olivia
Polar Bear
Dear GHS
Recently I adopted Polar Bear newly named
"Lily" and just wanted to give you a brief
update. She is a lovely dog and I could
not be happier.
She has settled in quite nicely and is
slowly integrating with Rosie, aka the
cat. She has learned to share the house
with Rosie, but not yet the "big
bed"..haha
After two minor accidents, she is getting
used to her routine of morning / evening
walks and the accidents have ceased. She
loves her walks! Despite all her new toys,
she seems to have an obsession with water
bottles...hmm, must see if I can find a
dog toy that looks like a water bottle.
She is slowly coming out of her shell and
shows much affection. Although she is slow
to get to know new people (visitors), I am
sure that will come in time. She
will be going for her first grooming this
week just in time for xmas! She is a
wonderful addition to the household!
Thank you GHS for allowing me to adopt
her!
Cheryl
Blitz
Hello!
I just wanted to update you on Domino
(formerly Blitz). She has settled in
well and is very comfortable in her new
home. She has been as good as
gold. She loves to play and enjoys
her walks very much. I’ve been very
blessed to find such a great dog and I’d
like to thank you for your services.
We went to our first training class last
night and she is well on her way to
developing good manners. I look
forward to spending many years together
and creating a lot of great memories with
her. She is a valued member of our
family – adopting a dog from the Guelph
Humane Society was an excellent decision.
All of your assistance was very much
appreciated – kudos and keep up the
stellar work!
Thanks.
Ricky
Hi
there. I adopted my dog Ricky from
the Guelph Humane Society in March of
2009. I just wanted to let you know he has
been a wonderful, albeit crazy dog at
times. He is very social and loves his
toys, bones and going on long hikes and
runs. He's super active and high energy
and above all else, the most lovable dog
in the world! Thank you so much!
Dayna Irwin

Boppity and Hepburn
We adopted
Lucy (formerly known as Hepburn)in
February, and she is a very unique cat!
Sassy and playful, and loves to rule the
roost. We love her. But we thought she was
lonely for a kitty companion, so we got
Timmy (formerly Boppity) in August, and
look how they’re friends already!! We
managed to introduce them properly and now
all they do is play and show off! Timmy is
VERY affectionate, and purrs constantly!
Lucy purrs too! The cutest thing they do
so far, is we will put their food dishes
down, and they will eat out of their own
dish, but then switch and finish each
others off!!
They’re great!
Thanks so much!
From Jen and Scott
Cas
Hello all! I
have been wanting to let you know how our
puppy is doing for some time now!!! We
adopted "Cas" now Oscar in 2010. As
Christmas approaches we thought we would
let you know he is doing well and we adore
him! Thank you so much!!!
The Lush Family
Zippy
Hi Everyone,
Just thought you might like an update
about Zippy. He's adusting well to his new
home and loving all the room to run
around. His best friend Sadie and him are
enjoying going for long walks together,
knocking over the occasional
christmas tree and lounging together on
the couch. I've sent you a picture of the
two of them. Things are working out great!
Thanks again!
Gerald and Amelia
Hi GHS!
I just wanted to send an update on
the two cats my housemate and I adopted
back in June of 2011. Nikita and Rocky
(formerly Amelia and Gerald McBoing Boing)
are doing fantastic! They've been loving
their new space and while it took a bit
for Rocky to really warm up to his new
surroundings, he's turned out to be
extremely cuddly and friendly, a big
switch from his initial cautious and
distant personality! Rocky is the
michievious one, always making a mess of
things, knocking things off a shelves and
scratching at our bedroom doors early in
the morning, but we love him all the same!
Nikita is alot more laid back, often
supervising Rocky's naughty habits and
spending A LOT of time sleeping and
lounging in every nook and cranny there
is. Oddly their personalities reverse when
we take them outdoors on a leash; Rocky's
curious, adventurous personality suddenly
becomes very shy and timid while Nikita
suddenly becomes more energetic and
explorative. The two are very compatible
and compliment each other very well! They
seem to follow us everywhere when we are
at home and enjoy being in our company.
It's so awesome to come home and have them
run to the door to great us every time! So
thank you for taking care of these two
super awesome cats until we found them! We
love them to pieces!
Peppy
We adopted "Peppy", a one year old
Pomeranian on November 12th, 2011. Peppy
is a rambunctuous dog, with lots of
energy. She is getting a lot better
with sharing especially since she has a 4
year old pomeranian "Lilly"to have to
share with. We are happy with the
addition of Peppy into our family.
She is loveable and has been very
receptive to our training. She can
already "shake a paw", go down... roll
over and of course "sit". She comes
when she is called and loves to chase and
play fight with our other dog. This photo
shows "Peppy" on the right with
"Lilly". Thanks for all your
assistance with the adoption. Brenda
and Meagan Dennis
Charlotte
Hi,
I adopted Charlotte from the shelter in
August, 2011. At first she was very
timid and spent a lot of time sleeping
under my bed. As you can see from
the picture she now likes to sleep on top
of the bookcase which is also handy for
birdwatching out of the window. She
loves to play and has a variety of toys to
keep her occupied. Her favorite is
the laser light operated by me every
evening. She tears around the house
trying to catch that elusive red
light. She is quite shy of doors to
the big bad outdoors which is fine with me
as it is a lot less hassle. When
human bedtime comes, Charlotte likes
nothing better than to stretch out on my
chest and tummy. Charlotte gets a
scratch while I am lying there
reading. She often repeats this
performance when she hears me waking up in
the morning. It seems to be her way
to greet me each day. She loves to
get into the clothes closets and
investigate whatever might be stored in
there. As I type this she has been
exploring the Xmas presents and caused a
small avalanche! She shot out and
disappeared. Since overcoming her
shyness she has proved to be a wonderful
companion. Thanks Michelle for
introducing her to me when I said I wanted
a declawed kitty. Charlotte has
found her forever home.
Glenda
Cadet
Hello! My
name is Jackson! Though, you might
remember me as Cadet. I am having a
wonderful time with my new family! Though
I like to chew up all of my new toys, I've
been an angel in the house and really
enjoy having people around to walk me and
love me all the time. I'm having lots of
fun at manners school and I learn real
quick! I still haven't been able to make
friends with my cat yet, but it's not for
lack of trying and I'm sure we'll be
friends soon. Thank you so much for
looking after me while I was waiting to
find my brand new home. I love it here! -
Jacks
Maggie
I thought I
would update you on how Maggie is doing.
It's been 7 months and 95% of our problems
are solved.
She is very good with the cats now. They
all live together without any problem. She
is jealous when I hold them but she tries
to keep it to herself.
She walks very well on a regular collar
and an extendable leash. She's been
attending agility classes and catches on
very quickly. She's much more relaxed now
and only barks at strangers briefly, then
calms down when she sees we're okay with
them. (Children worry her a lot so we just
keep her away from them.)
Her favourite pastimes are sitting on the
couch with us watching TV and playing with
all her toys. She also likes playing with
a large Labradoodle in the neighbourhood
and catching Frisbees. I have to admit she
sleeps on the bed with us but that is our
fault. We would miss her too much if she
was on her bed. She is very much like a 3
year old child and we love her dearly.
Thanks so much for letting us have her.
Sincerely,
Pam & Eldy
Blackberry
Blackberry
came into our lives from GHS at the age of
ten in 2003, having lost his first family
and needing a forever home. He
brought us more joy than we could have
ever imagined in the eight and a half
years he lived with us. He was faithful,
loving, spirited, and connected to us in
all ways. When my husband had bypass
surgery with complications requiring six
months at home, Blackberry was his “angel”
by his side day and night, helping him to
heal and be healthy again.
Blackberry loved going in the garden on
harness and leash, and when we built a
sunroom on our house two years ago, he
claimed it as his own and spent two happy
years lounging in the sunlight, watching
the birds and squirrels go by. We
will love him forever,
Leslie and Bob Bamford
Dillinger
Hello!!! I
was looking through the happy endings page
on your website, and have been meaning to
update you on Dillinger (now called
Dillon)! He is a very loving and friendly
black and white cat who came into GHS as a
battered up stray! I adopted him back in
May 2011. He is far from a wild cat. He
LOVES attention and will meow across the
house while he tries to find which room
you are in. He has become best buds with
my other cat, as well as my chocolate lab!
He welcomes anyone, and any new animal
guest into his home. He is loving his new
and forever home! Thanks for helping to
save and re-home a well deserving cat!! :)
Mous
I would like
provide you an update on Mous (aka: Baby),
our shih tzu/beagle cross puppy we happily
adopted earlier this year from you.
Mous adjusted quite well to her new home
and quickly made friends with our two cats
Billy and Dutchess. Mous has a
wonderful playful spirit and is always
smiling for the camera. She loves
being outdoors, going for long walks,
playing fetch and running around with all
the other dogs at the leash free
park. She thoroughly enjoyed her
first tent camping trip to Algonquin this
summer and was quite fascinated when she
saw her first Moose! She enjoyed
listening to all the loons singing at dusk
and hearing her cousins howling in the
distance. We are looking forward to
celebrating her first of many birthdays in
a few weeks and we know Santa will be
leaving her lots of toys and goodies under
the tree. Thank you GHS for letting
us adopt Mous, she has been a perfect
addition to our family!!
Cheryl, John and Sammie
Todd
We adopted
Todd from GHS in August. Todd is an
awesome, fantastic and amazing dog! He has
adjusted so well, he fit right in with our
family! He loved his training and we are
now working on off leash training. He
loves to play fetch with anything. He is
such a big cuddle bug, getting belly rubs
make him melt. We would like to say a
special thanks to Uta, she helped us out
so much, by answering our questions and
with placing the right dog with our
family. Thanks so much for our new family
member.
Sara Duke
Canth
Hello,
just wanted to say thank you for allowing
me to adopt Canth in August. He is
now known as Desmond and is now 6 months
old. He has a 15 year old big
brother named Harry who he likes to
torment sometimes but Harry has been very
patient having such a young new
brother. Des is so playful and gives
me a lot of laughs with his
craziness! He loves his toys - I
find them everywhere. My family get
a big kick out of him when they visit
because he will come out and visit as well
- even play with the kids when they toss
one of his mice or one of his balls.
He has settled right in and is great
company for me and certainly keeps old
Harry on his toes. He has been up
north to the cottage (in a boat!).
He checked out the kids who came to the
door at Halloween with such curiousity -
one of the kids said he was a very cool
cat! So needless to say he has settled in
and is well loved part of our little
family.
Thank you so much for taking such good
care of him before he came to his forever
home.

Princess Buttercup
Here are a
few photos of our Princess and boy can she
be stubborn just like our Max was. She
fits in well with our family and is a
perfect match for our Chance-the puppy
from hell.
I will try to get some photos of Buttercup
smiling but all she wants to do is run
around the yard with Chance and doesn't
like me trying to take her photo etc.

Rolf
Hi Everyone,
My name is Buddy (a.k.a.
Rolf). In September, I moved into a
new house, complete with staff. I
was a bit shy at first but now I love to
dash about the house chasing my numerous
toys, hanging from my condo, playing with
a feather and watching the squirrels from
my living room window. At night, I
sleep in my kitty tent that my staff
bought for me. I love my
tent!! My staff have become
accustomed to my early morning
demands for food. In return for my
staff's service I provide them with love,
purrs and entertainment. My staff
(Mommy and Daddy) say I am a very good
boy. Mommy and Daddy say they are
very glad I chose them.
Thanks to everyone at the Guelph Humane
Society,
Buddy and staff (Bob and Kathy)
Denis
Hey there !
Just wanted to share a few pictures of
Denis' first week home !
He is doing great ! The first few days he
was a little shy, but now he is as crazy
as ever! He loves to sleep, is always
playing, and cannot get enough cuddles and
LOVES to give us all bathes, he would lick
us ALL day long if we let him. :)
Thanks so much for everything you guys do,
and allowing us to make Denis apart of our
family !! Enjoy ! :)
Meaghan Circosta
Arizona
Hello! We met
Arizona (who we call Zona) in May and it
was love at first sight for everyone
involved. She settled in perfectly to
our new home and her and our other cat
Nimoy have become the best of friends.
She loves to lay at the bedroom window
watching the birds and the bugs fly by
while she tries her best to catch them
through the glass. She also loves going
for walks on the grass with her harness
on and meeting lots of new people! She
is an incredible snuggler and she loves
bum scratches! We are all so grateful to
have found this beautiful girl as she is
the perfect addition to our family! We
absolutely love her, so thank you so
much!
Jessica,
Mike and Nimoy
Angelo
To all the kind staff and
volunteers at the humane society,
Hello again. This is a quick update
on Angelo (aka Finley). We just
wanted to let you know that things are not
only going smoothly but they are
fantastic. Finley has settled in
extremely well and is just
blossoming. I have attached a photo
of him, with his big brother Riley, who he
adores beyond belief. We are now taking a
manners class at puppy school, and he is
just such a brave little thing amongst
these big dogs.
We are also happy to report that
with slow and steady increase in exercise
his knees are getting stronger. Our vet
has given us specific exercises so that it
is very unlikely that he will need
surgery.
We are very grateful that his knees
prevented him from being adopted until we
came along. We like to think that he
was fated to be part of our family. As you
can probably tell, we love him to bits and
pieces. He responds with tons of
hugs, kisses and cuddles.
Thank you for all you do for taking care
of these sweet beings.

Rogue And Mistique
Hello! I wanted to give everyone an
update on Rogue & Ilithiya (now
Rogue & Mistique.) They have
adjusted famously to their new home, and
are just the best little sister kittens
anyone could ask for!!! Everyone
at the shelter (and me as well) thought
that Rogue was going to be the
troublemaker - boy, were we wrong!!
Mistique or Misty for short has
turned out to be quite the ball of
energy, and Rogue is the snuggle cat!!
Rogue loves to walk around sitting
on our shoulder and sleep under the
covers sharing our pillows!!
Mistique always comes to bed with
us too, but prefers to sleep at the foot
of the bed until we are sleeping deeply
and then slowly moves up closer to our
heads as I always find her up around my
chest when I wake up.......she's just a
little more shy :) Both of
them love playing with their ball
in the track and their fuzzy bird
and mouse squeaky toys. Attached
are some pictures of our precious
kitties. Rogue is the brown tabby
with white, Mistique is the grey tabby
with the squirrel tail!! SincerelyKristina,
Rhaun, Rouge & Mistique
Hi,
We adopted Winnie in June, a two year
old white and brown tabby.
She is doing very well and and is well
loved; She loves to play, cuddle and
even chases her own tail. She loves
sleeping with us at night and if we
don't put her toys away before
bed, we will wake with them around
our heads.
Everyone who visits, falls in love with
her, thank you so much.

condition but we now have it under
control.Brandy
rarely
barks at other dogs now and the Jack
Russell in her just wants to hunt for
squirrels.We
have been on a couple of weekend
vacations and taking her to Florida in
September. If you remember we have
another 7 yr. old girl, Carmen and she
hasdriven

Hello! Miss Daisy Wick was
adopted on June 29 and she was renamed
Kitty Lisa. We have been camping
with her twice this summer and she really
enjoyed herself. Please find
attached a photo of her lounging in the
sunshine of our trailer window
(August). She is a great traveller
and that is evidenced in the second
attached pic of her sleeping in my son’s
lap on our way home (July). She is
teaching my son a great deal of
responsibility and is a joyful addition to
our family. Thank you for the
opportunity to adopt her,
Jane.
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to send you a quick update on
Stella, the border collie mix I adopted from
you in December. She is doing very
well and gets along great with her buddy,
Malakai. She now heels on a loose
leash, and plays nicely with everyone at the
dog park. She and I are inseperable
and she goes everywhere with me. She
loves to nap on the couch while I work on
the computer, and she's my best work out
partner too! Thank you so much for
giving me my best friend!

Just
a
note to let you know that Kermit is doing
well and has had his first visit to the
vet. Attached is a photo of Kermit and
Cocoa in the process of bonding.

Dear Guelph Humane Society Staff and
Volunteers,
I just wanted to take a moment to update you
on our little Frida (formerly Sophie),
adopted Feb. 11, 2011. She truly has
had a huge impact on our lives and we love
her to bits. We could not have asked
for a better little girl and she settled
wonderfully into our home. She
seems to be very happy with her new home,
and although she is a bit timid she loves to
play with her buddies in the park. She
even had little objections to her first trip
to the “dog spa” for what I suspect was her
first ever groom and I think came out
looking pretty smart.
My husband and I wanted to sincerely thank
the Society Staff and Volunteers for all
that you do to help our furry friends in
need, and all that you did for our
Frida.

Hi there:
We've all been meaning to update you as to
how Mason is doing now. Let me tell
you he is a very energetic little guy.
He is now 16 months old and likes to climb
(over fences) and play and chew through lots
of things, but we wouldn't have it any other
way. He has been a great addition and
gets us out for long walks everyday.
He enjoys running around the backyard and
trying to keep the kids in line, must be the
collie in him. He certainly lets you
know when one of your group is
missing! He loves the kids and enjoys
playing with their toys as well as his
own. He has found a perch right at the
front window and enjoys looking out at
everyone passing by.
Mason also has a girlfriend, our neighbour's
dog, her name is Jersey and they walk
together every morning now. He
excelled at puppy class, but promptly forgot
all his training the minute he left the
class. :) He is super smart and we are
very happy to have him a part of our
family. Thanks for taking such good
care of him.
- BJ, Helen, Alexis, Rhys, Kevin and
Mason!
Hey there GHS, just wanted to give you an
update on Benga, (formerly Barney).
It's been a few months since he's been home
and it's like he's been here even longer.
The best addition to the family that we
could ever have hoped for.
As soon as I walked to his kennel and went
to unlock it for the very first time, he
chose me. Before I could even touch the lock
he grabbed my fingers through the cage for a
very friendly lick. From there, it was just
paperwork keeping us apart. From the second
he hopped out of his cardboard box at home
he gave me a nudge and a lick on the toes
and went investigating where everything he
would need could be found. He's doing
amazing, he's adapted to our house rules
without hesitation and now we're in the
midst of potty training. And let me just
say, he's doing fantastic. And his taste for
toes certainly hasn't diminished. I love
coming home to him purring and chatting me
up about my day. I could go on for
some time about how much I love this cat,
but I mostly just need to say.. Thank you.
Thank you for taking great care of him and
being super helpful and friendly during our
entire process.
( And thanks to everyone else who didn't
take him home! I can't imagine this house
without him! )
Emma, Ryan and Benga
Hi there,
My name is Addi (formally Cassie) and I have
been at home with my new mom for 4 weeks and
I LOVE it here!
I have a new husband named Domo. He's a
sheltie! We get along so well together! We
always play and give each other kisses! My
best friend is a pig names Pig! We always
play with each other and I help him clean
his face sometimes! And sometimes I just
like pulling on his tail to hear him squeal!
Mommy has been so nice to me! She takes me
on a walk through the forest everyday! I
also get all the ice cubes I can eat. YUM!
I have grown so much! Mommy thought I was a
lab but I'm showing her everyday that I'm
part Shepard! Last week, my ears wouldn't
stop standing up!
Anyways, Mommy and I have to go for a walk
now! Thanks so much for giving me such a
great home!
Smell you later,
Addi
Hello
We adopted Patches from your shelter at the
end of March. She has has been a wonderful
animal--affectionate ( to the extreme),
follows you every where and sleeps with us
every night. We have had a number of cats
over the years--some of them quite
wonderful--but none as nice as Patches.
Ted
Just wanted to update you on our recent adoption of Quincy.
He is an awesome cat
and he settled in his new home within only a
day or so. We couldn't have asked for a
better pet. He has also made friends with
our other 2 cats. He has that great
personality
and we thank you all.

Hi
to the staff at the Guelph Humane Society,
We just wanted to give you an update about
Symba!
We
adopted
Symba during March Break of this
year. He has fit into our family so
perfectly, just like a piece to a
puzzle. We love him to bits.
He has brought a ray of sunshine into our
home with his cuddly, loveable
personality. Training him didn't
take long, for he is very smart. He
enjoys playing with his toys, especially
toys that squeak! He also really
enjoys chewing on Nylabones. When it
comes to being outside, he enjoys playing
chase with our other dog Anook on our farm
and/or playing fetch. Anook just
loves Symba and they have become the
greatest of friends. They love to
wrestle, play and run together.
Symba has acquired a new found interest in
swimming! We have a pond on our
property and Symba tried it for the first
time. He was nervous at first but
now he loves to go into the pond to play
fetch or just to cool off and get a
drink. Symba gets along with all
people and dogs and and is just an easy
going happy boy. He has been a great
addition to our family. We just
wanted to let you know that Symba has
adjusted well to country life and loves
having another dog in our home to play
with and keep him company. He is
just a joy to have in our family! We
have attached some photos for you to see
him.
Sincerely, Sherry

Dear Friends at the Humane Society, my name
is Shadow.
I understand if you don't remember me
because you help so many animals
everyday. I'm thinking of leaving soon
because my hips just hurt too bad to have
any kind of fun anymore. Before I go,
I wanted to thank you. I had a nice
time when I stayed with you and you helped
me find a new house with a loving family.
I know I've been a good dog. I helped
look after their kids. I got them to
the school bus on time every morning and I
brought them home safe after school.
I helped look after their cats. I
rounded them up when too many got out at one
time and I herded them to the door so no one
would get lost.
I layed with my mommy and kept her warm when
she got sick with the cancer. I even
tried to tell her she had cancer but she
didn't understand.
They treated me real nice too. We played and
snuggled. They gave me treats and they
never, ever hit me, not even when I growled
at that cat on Christmas because it sniffed
my cookies from Santa. We got to spend
almost 10 years together and it's all
because of you.
Thank you very much.
Your friend,
Shadow

Hello Everyone!
It's almost been a week since we adopted
Kobi, so I figured it was time to update you
and send you some pics of him
in his forever home!!
Kobi (Or Ollie as we have re-christened him)
is doing great! When I brought him home last
week, and took him out of his cardboard box
he immediately started purring! It was a
great feeling! He then preceded to
investigate every square inch of the
apartment, and was thrilled to discover
he had lots of windows to perch on and watch
birds from. By far his favorite
place is hanging out in the bathroom window
(which is literally in the
shower!). Ollie's other favorite
activity is watching my fish Todd, and
trying to plot how he will one day eat him!
As of yet, he has been very gentle with only
soft pats at the bowl (see pic).
Overall, we are loving having Ollie with us
and are very pleased with our
decision. We are very glad that
everyone else passed
him by!! All the best,
Danielle, Chris and Ollie
Hello! I
just wanted to update you on Bella, who
we adopted on September 7, 2010. I like to
say she chose us. On our first
visit to the shelter, I picked her up,
and she gave me the sweetest kiss on the
cheek. It was love at first
lick! We stayed a whole hour, just
sitting and playing with her. We
knew we had to take her home.
While the initial transition was a
little strained [she was too excited to
sleep at all, and meowed and chattered
through most of the night], she has
since settled down and become an
irreplaceable part of the family.
She was so tiny when we first got her,
but she has now grown to a healthy size,
and has enough fur for two cats!
She loves to spend her days playing with
her crinkle ball, just like she had at
the shelter. She refuses to go a
day without it! She wakes us up
with little "kisses" every morning, and
likes to 'help' clean us. She
loves to groom her daddy's hair.
She is such a joy to have around the
apartment, and I wanted to thank you for
taking good care of her until we found
her. She makes us smile every day,
and we couldn't have found a better cat.

Michael

and weighs 32 pounds (14.6 kg). Regards, Joanne and Laura
Titan and Medusa
Hi, just thought I'd send a message to let
you know how our kittens, that we adopted
in late November, are doing now.
They were formerly Titan and Medusa, now
Titan and Sally. Although we understand
why she was named Medusa (she still has
crazy soft, fluffy fur) we liked Sally
better. Both kittens have settled in
great! They have very different
personalities which is great for us
because we get the best of both
worlds. They love each other so
much, I'm glad that we were able to take
them both. My kids love them and are
very proud to have them and to help
out. They laugh daily at the crazy
antics of the kittens.
Titan loves to explore and gets into
everything. He is friendly, aloof
and purrs loudly as soon as we look at
him. He's surprisingly clumsy but
never stops trying to hone his cat
skills.Sally is very affectionate and
cuddly. When she not sleeping in our
laps, or with Titan in a sun spot, she is
flying through the air wildly after a toy
or her brother.
We had some health issues with them
originally but thanks to some friendly
advice from Humane Society staff we worked
through it and at 6-7 months of age, both
are healthy and happy. Thanks so
much, it was a great adoption experience.
Kathleen
