The Pet Pals Program
The Pet Pals Program was created to give kids who are not old enough to volunteer the chance to interact with the animals they love. We rely on leaders to volunteer their time and show kids between 8-15 years the ropes of volunteering at The Guelph Humane Society.
What does a Pet Pal Leader do?
Becoming a Pet Pal Leader is an eight week commitment with a group of 4 children who are eager to learn about animals. For one hour a week, experience the joy of teaching them important animal care skills while getting them excited about making a difference. Times are flexible and revolve around you—we encourage our leaders to create the program that works for your group.
Who should be a Pet Pal Leader?
Anyone who is eager to share their experience with others! We are particularly interested in people who want to work with children. We also appreciate those who have experience with their own pets or other animals and want to share that joy with others.
